As such, I regret my decision, I’ve been feeling a ton of sadness and I don’t know what to do. They had about 50 times the resources and I’ve worked for them before as a contractor. I only accepted this job because the other offer I got was a lot but I wish I would’ve accepted the other company. This is not what I expected at all and I was very blindsided. It’s so mentally draining all I do after work is sleep. We have basically no formal escalation guideline.
We never have enough people for the volume. We need to coordinate our breaks and bathroom times like school children. We’re simultaneously working 5 issues at once.
I was very blindsided, I struggle with keeping up and hitting the “numbers” (which adds unnecessary stress). Was thrown into the fire the second day, on the phones and doing tickets live. There has been about 2 hours worth of training in total, in my entire month here. We deal with customers constantly yelling at us because we’re an MSP not internal so they act like they don’t have to be nice to us. I received a said if you watch this video they will pay you 500 dollars at the end of the video.then at the end of they video they want you to pay 47 dollars and after joining if you don't make 500.dollars in 60 days they will pay you 500. Then there’s the phone calls, which we are required to drop what we’re doing, assist the customer, put anything we’ve been working on on hold. We are neck deep in tickets every single day, it’s an uphill battle none of us are ever winning. At first I saw it as a fast paced and exciting challenge but quickly realized that everyone just sinking deeper trying to stay afloat. So I work at a very small MSP, understaffed. I’ve been interested in programming and have been taking Ruby classes but I can’t seem to find the motivation after the workday. I got back into IT after a little over a year doing some work in the field (fiber optic, low voltage type stuff).
